In November 2023, Tembo made an admission that his stay at Richards Bay was uncertain. He was worried about the South African premier league side’s continuous losing under his watch. Currently Richards Bay is on 15th position on the log standing with 3 loses, a draw and a loss in their last 5 games. Richards Bay lost their last encounter against Kaizer Chiefs and the management had to let go of Coach Tembo.
