South African suspects arrested in possession of stolen leather roll

JOHANNESBURG

Two suspects nabbed for possession of stolen leather roll stock with an estimated value of R750 000in Midrand

Two Malawian males between the ages of 39 and 40 years were arrested by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) K9 Unit together with the Johannesburg Organised Crime Unit (Hawks) in Midrand for possession of stolen leather rolls.

On Wednesday 30 March 2022 officers followed up on information received on Tuesday 29 March 2022 of a possible robbery and kidnapping around the Isando area.

The team responded to the location given and the description of the suspect’s vehicle a White Iveco was received.

The vehicle was spotted and stopped on the N1 South in Midrand. Two suspects were apprehended and five suspects escaped.

When searched the vehicle was loaded with leather rolls with an estimated value of R750 000.

Both suspects were detained at Midrand SAPS and the vehicle used in commission of the crime was seized #SaferJoburg #BuyaMthetho ^NB
