Miss South Africa organisation stated this on their website as entries for the competition opens.
The move has been praised by South African netizens as they feel everyone deserved a chance in life.
In order for one to be eligible to compete internationally, the contestant must be in possession of a valid South Africa ID document reflecting that their amended sex is female.
In 2018, Miss Universe featured its first contestant Miss Spain, Angela Ponce.
The outing going Miss South Africa is Shudufhadzo Musida.
